Benjamin James Harvey brings a new prospective to an ever changing industry. BJ started working at E.L. Harvey & Sons part-time in his high school years. He was a four-year starter for the Fairfield University football team, where he was awarded the distinction as All Conference First Team for two years. B.J. graduated from Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business in 2001, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. Upon graduation he worked for UBS as a certified financial planner and insurance agent, passing his Series 66 and Series 7 exams. This experience enables him to work closely with the company’s finance department.
He has worked in a managerial role in the waste industry and has gained a depth of knowledge about the industry. B.J. has experience working for a large, public corporation and a small, privately-owned corporation. He worked in South Carolina, for Fennel Container, an affiliate of Republic Industries.
At E.L. Harvey & Sons, B.J. has helped to expand the computer and electronics business. B.J. has worked very closely in electronic recycling, as well as document destruction in accordance with HIPAA regulations. He is currently actively involved in the aquisition and intigration processes at E.L. Harvey & Sons.
He is actively involved in the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID) and Environmental Industries Association (EIA), The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and the US Green Building Councils Leadership and Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
